How to Setup Windows from External Hard Drive without any software!
Earlier we wrote about how to setup windows from usb drive. Today i am going to talk about how to setup windows from external hard drive. There are so many ways you can find in the internet, but i am going to tell you the easiest way and in order to do this you don’t even need any software!
Lets get started:
>>First of all you need to to ensure there is only a single partition exists in the hard drive. Put all the personal data in a single folder and you are good to go..
Step 1: Copy all the contents of windows installation disk to your hard drive. If you have a ISO file extract all the files in the hard drive you want to boot from using extracting software like 7zip or winrar.
Step 2: Go to start menu and type cmd. Open it as administrator
Type the following command and hit enter
bootsect /nt60 z:
Here Z: is the letter of your external hard drive.
Alternatively, you could also use the the following command
Z:\boot\bootsect /nt60 Z:
And you’re done! YES, as simple as that! Make sure to replace the Z: with the letter of your external hard drive. Once this is done, the hard drive has been set as bootable, and if you try to boot your computer from it, the Windows installation will be launched. This works on windows 7 and windows 8 and i have personally tested it. So give it a try 🙂
